Part-Time2 - 12 hour shifts
Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist II assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs care for premature, pediatric, and adult patients.

Responsibilities:
1.
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs care for premature, pediatric, and adult patients.
2.
Assesses the current status and immediate airway needs of the critically ill neonate, pediatric, or adult patient in the transport, intensive care, and general care environment.
3.
Participates in the education of referral staff, patients, parents and ACH staff.
4.
May provide guidance and support to the Registry Eligible and RRT I position as necessary.
5.
Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.
6.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
7.
Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical ExpertiseA minimum of 3 years of experience as a respiratory therapist in a critical care environment is required.
At least 1 year of experience must be with the neonatal or pediatric population.
Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word or similar software is required.
Education and ExperienceEducation:
Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Care.
Certification:
Registered Respiratory Therapist credential is required; Current OH Respiratory Care Professional license is required Health Care Provider BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications are required, NRP and STABLE obtained within 1 year and all must be maintained throughout employment; NPS or CNPT credential required within two years of hire; EMT-B credential is preferred; Achieve PFCCS and ABLS credential for therapists participating in critical care transports from the Akron campus.
Successful completion of Intubation and transport training at ACH is required.
Airway and procedural skills must be maintained throughout employment.
Excellent critical thinking skills required.
